In this repository are available all the material prepared for the internal course at the Eurac research. The course is split in two main parts:
- Introduction to basic programming concepts. The course use Python as an introductory language, but the basic concepts can be applied in other languages too. The content of the material and of the course cover:
- numerical, boolean and string data types (integer, float, complex, boolean, string)
- sequential, set and mapping data types (list, tuple, set, dictionary)
- control flow (if/elif/else, for- and while-loops)
- define a function
- Basic concepts of the Python programming language, the course covers:
- define function, function arguments, default arguments and undefine arguments;
- define classes attributes, methods, inheritance
- how to document your code, add typing hint
- how to test your code
If you want to start without installing anything on your computer you can:
- connect to Collaboratory provided by Google (it require the autentication, you can use your eurac account if you do not want to sign-in);
- go to
File -> load block note -> Github
insert the repository: https://github.com/euracresearch/python-course - once the files are open, you can execute and play with the code cell by cell, executing the cell using the ▶ button on the page header or pressing Shift+Enter using the keyboard.
