These set of instructions are for Intel MacBooks, utilizing VirtualBox.
Download VirtualBox here for macOS / Intel hosts.
- Navigate to https://www.kali.org/get-kali.
- Scroll down to Kali Linux Changelog where you'll find a tab for Installer. Select the tab and download the Kali Linux iso (depending on the machine, its most probably the recommended, 64 bit version).
- Open VirtualBox and click on New.
- Set a name for your virtual machine, choose a folder where you'd want the machine to be at and select the ISO image file that you downloaded in step #2. (VirtualBox should automatically add the rest of the configurations on this page)
- Give your virtual machine base memory (at least 2gb) and processors (at least 2 cores).
- Select Create a Virtual hard disk now from the 3 available options and give it at least 20GB and hit next.
- Make sure all information is correct on this page and hit finish. You should now see a virtual machine tab on the left side bar of the application window.
- With your virtual machine selected, click Settings at the top and configure its Display to your liking, and hit OK.
- Click Start and configure Kali Linux inside the virtual machine window.
