Kisekae UltraKiss 3.7.4
UltraKiss 3.7.4 is now released to provide online access to over 4500 KiSS sets freely available on OtakuWorld.com. Use the UltraKiss Portal (File-Open Portal) to access the KiSS Online Library. Within the Portal, click on any URL link to a zip or lzh file to download the file and open it in UltraKiss.
Update 1 June 26, 2024, corrects the Search function (File-Search) and adjusts the Portal to show the last web page accessed.
Update 2 July 1, 2024, resolves window size issues after (File-Search) on Linux systems.
UltraKiss 3.7.4 continues to distribute a new visual application UltraKiss_TheOwl as an independent program to download and run all Scarecrow sets. This release continues to improve functional stability of the product. See Follow the Owl for his latest quest games.
Installation of UltraKiss with the Install4J technology creates two application programs. One program, UltraKiss_3.7.4 is the standard UltraKiss release. The second program, UltraKiss_TheOwl is a specific distribution to automatically start TheOwl.zip KiSS set to access the Follow the Owl website for his latest quest games.

UltraKiss is now packaged with Install4J technology that provides a multi-platform installer builder for Java applications on Windows, Linux, and Apple systems. These installers are fully bundled with a Java Runtime Environment (JRE). Java is not required to be installed on your machine. Download and install UltraKiss using the platform links below.
Effective with UltraKiss 3.7 this installer configures a Java heap size of 50% of available memory. Effective with UltraKiss 3.7.3 the installer packages a Java Runtime Environment (JRE) version 11 for systems that do not have Java installed.

This version of UltraKiss will run on Windows XP and all later versions of Windows.
For local execution on a Linux or Apple or Windows system with Java already installed, run the kisekae.jar file from the ultrakiss folder using the java -jar kisekae.jar command. If the .jar extension is configured in your system as a Java application then you can run the program by directly clicking on this file.

UltraKiss 3.7.1 update 1 is now released to correct problems related to FKiSS GUI component cels and synchronization of multiple threads for parameter passing on label routines. Update 1 corrects a deficiency with a failure to recognize collision events during mouse movement when object visibility is changed through external alarms or other activities. UltraKiss 3.7
UltraKiss 3.7 is now released to support the Scarecrow sets. This release improves memory management for the NoGodsLand Part 1 VIP quest game and all previous KiSS sets by The Owl. See Follow the Owl for his latest quest games.
UltraKiss is now implements a PagesAsScenes compatibility option to enable loading and unloading of image cels on a scene basis. A scene is a KiSS page and represents one visual screen or page of the novel or game. Page 0 is a common page for all scenes. Cels on page 0 are available to all scenes. Page 0 cels are always retained in memory. Each time the game switches to a new scene UltraKiss will load the scene images defined for the new page. Unused page images are unloaded when no longer required.
Effective with UltraKiss 3.7 update 4 calls to label events in FKiSS code are now synchronized. Parameter passing for gosub routines was not reentrant when using multiple event handlers.
Effective with UltraKiss 3.7 update 5 the notify() action command is extended to allow for an optional URL hyperlink to be specified for clicking on an image. The Slot Machine demonstration set is updated to Version 2 and win probabilities are documented.

Additional corrections have been made to enhance PlayFKiss compatibility. No known compatibility issues exist when PlayFKiss compatibility is set.
An intermittent NullPointerException that occurred after set load in the Swing Java library code is resolved.
The Scarecrow sets are now recognized on load and the appropriate PlayFKiss compatibility mode options are now automatically set.
The FKissEditor and UltraKiss debug traces now provide improved diagnostic information and visibility control for high volume event processing.
