A Door represents a door in a Face through which people can enter and exit. Doors typically exist as children to wall Faces but they can also be placed within floors or roofs to represent overhead doors.

Only two options are acceptable for the "boundary_condition" key of an Door:

  • Outdoors
  • Surface

Doors possess an optional "is_glass" property to note whether the door is opaque or transparent. This property can be used across extensions to ensure that light passes through the door in different simulation engines.

The Door also possesses a key for "indoor_shades", which can account for the thickness of walls in doorways as well as an "outdoor_shades" key, which can represent entryway canopies, etc.
