Made for typing all of those as chords, personally I'm not using shorthands. Currently working on making an app for practicing these for myself, but also for any other custom dictionary.
Most of these are like briefs in stenography, made specifically for speed due to how common they are. Since the top-300 words make up for 65% of everything written in English, being able to type them fast can be great. The top-100 words are mostly arbitrary, the rest are either based on spelling or pronunciation. Words more rare than these — I'd want to make them more consistent in chording, but not sure how to.
I've made these based on what makes sense for me personally. My keyboard is a split column-staggered ergo board, and it has low-profile, really light switches with keycaps that allow multiple keys to be easily pressed with one finger. So I've optimized the chords specifically for being able to press multiple adjacent keys at once. At that, I've also tried to make sure that the chords can be pressed easily, without intertwining fingers too much.
