This repository contains code and models for an analysis of plausible family relationships between two Iron Age individuals from Southwestern Germany (the central burials of Hochdorf and Asperg).

The repository contains stan-models and their analysis in Mathematica notebooks, as well as Mathematica scripts to prepare the figures used in the paper referencing this repository.

The files and folders specifically:

• avuncular_models/*: Stan code for the two avuncular models
• cousins_model/*: Stan code for the cousin-model
• grandparental_models/*: Stan code for the four grandparental models
• sibling_model/*: Stan code for the sibling model
• run.sh: Shell commands to compile the stan code and run the model samplers
• stanAnalysis.nb: Main Wolfram Language Notebook for analysing the Stan results
• images_presentation.nb: Some additonal Wolfram Language code for figures used in the paper.
• Figures/*: Folder for all produced figures, using code in the two Wolfram language notebooks.
• main_figure_datagraph.dgraph/: A file for the visualization software "Datagraph", to prepare the main figure. It was actually later modified using inkscape, so this is not up to date with the paper.
