PRIDE Cluster data
[Link to presentation on PRIDE Cluster by Juan Antonio Vizcaíno.] (http://www.slideshare.net/JuanAntonioVizcaino/pride-cluster-presentation)
PRIDE Cluster combines similar spectra from across PRIDE, and delivers three types of clusters:
- clusters that contain only identified spectra
- clusters that contain a mixture of identified and unidentified spectra
- clusters that contain only unidentified spectra
It is the latter two that are particularly important for the community, as there is a high potential for discovery.
The clusters are split in species. The majority of the data is human, but other model organisms are also well represented.
Could the clusters be used for subtractive analysis of spectra. For instance if there are two organisms in a sample, and one would want to extract (or subtract) spectra from one or the other. - Yes, this is possible, and approaches have been published to do this on the spectral level, e.g., Önder et al, 2013 and Yilmaz et al, 2016.
