New features

Bar assessments

When visiting a fleet carrier bar, EDR will show you an evaluation of the items on sale (or in demand if none are on sale):

  • Most useful items on sale with number of blueprints (B), upgrades (U) using the item, as well as trading value (X) or unlocking engineers (E).
  • Least useful items in demand with the same numbers system as above.

This feature will help you quickly know what to buy or sell at a fleet carrier bar. If the info goes too quickly, buy one of the items and EDR will reshow an updated assessment.

You can also trigger the assessment manually via a in-game chat command:

  • !eval bar (or !eval bar stock), !eval bar demand commands to evaluate the stock of items available at the last visited bar, or the items in demand at the last visited bar.

Reporting of stock and demand at bars

After visiting a bar, and undocking, EDR will report back the remaining stock and purchase orders at the bar for the benefit of other EDR users (server side feature: not yet implemented).

Reporting of buy/sell orders

If you place buy/sell orders for commodities and odyssey materials at your fleet carrier, EDR will broadcast the information to EDR Central as long as your carrier allows anyone to dock.

You can also setup a Discord webhook to send the information to a channel of your choice on discord Note: there is also a separate discord webhook to announce your fleet carrier's flight plan to a channel of your choice. (see user_config_sample.ini in the config folder for instructions).

Misc

  • Updated odyssey materials to reflect requirements for engineers in Colonia.

New feature

Added support for sending Fleet Carrier announcements directly to a discord channel of your choice:

  1. Go to settings, and change the FC announcement dropdown to "Direct"
  2. Go to the config folder, open user_config.ini (create one by copying user_config_sample.ini if you don't have one)
  3. Create a discord webhook
  4. copy paste the webhook URL after the jump_webhook entry in the [discord_fleetcarrier] section
  5. Save the user_config.ini file, relaunch EDR.

Bug fixes

Fix support for Discord integration for in-game outgoing chat message (check the user_config_sample.ini for the various webhook channels available).

New features

VR & multi-monitor

Tweaked EDMCOverlay to support a new "standalone" mode which allows the overlay to work in the following contexts:

  1. in VR (via SteamVR's desktops feature or other third parties such as OVRToolkit, Desktop+, etc). See issue #21.
  2. in a multi-monitor setup (i.e. the overlay can be moved / resized to a different monitor and location.

How to

  1. Disable the global EDMCOverlay if installed
  2. Set the overlay to standalone in EDR settings (EDMC File menu, Settings, EDR tab)
  3. Launch a game session
  4. Adjust the size, location, transparency and top most attributes with the controls (see next section)

Controls

Controls are shown when the overlay is in standalone mode and has the focus:

overlay-standalone-transparent-with-controls-shown

  • Top left corner: drag and drop to move the overlay, double click to maximize / restore.
  • Bottom left corner: hover to make the overlay transparent
  • Bottom right corner: grab to resize the overlay
  • Top right corner: hover to make the overlay opaque
  • Green square in the top middle: hover to have the overlay be always on top
  • Red square in the bottom middle: hover to have the overlay be a regular window (not always on top)

VR placement with SteamVR

  1. Launch EDMC
  2. Configure EDR settings (EDMC File menu, Settings, EDR tab) with the overlay set to "Standalone"
  3. Launch the game in VR
  4. Launch a game session
  5. The overlay should start automatically, adjust its size and position as needed (outside of VR)
  6. Launch SteamVR's dash menu, select "Desktops", and then select the right desktop if multiple exists
  7. Click on the +, select EDMCOverlay V1.1.0.0
  8. Adjust the position and size in VR
  9. Close SteamVR's dash
    EDR-in-VR

Also see these SteamVR patch notes for more details.

Fleet carrier market summary

After making changes to one's fleet carrier market or bar, EDR will place a summary in the clipboard. This can be used to quickly communicate your orders to other players in forums, discord servers, etc.

Example:

Fleet Carrier [B6J-0HZ] - Benco Bar - Since 3307
Location: San Tu
Access: all

New features

Engineering materials

  • EDR will show useful information about materials when pointing at them with the "pointing" emote gesture: how many blueprints/upgrades/synthesis/techbroker, rarity, typical locations, required by engineers & whether you still need it, etc.
  • The !eval command accepts engineering materials. This can be useful when looking at mission rewards to quickly find out how useful the reward is (e.g. !eval air quality reports). Try the !eval locker if you want to know what to sell at the bar or via your fleet carrier. Also, !eval backpack to know what to drop if your backpack is full.
  • When accepting a mission with an item, EDR will show an evaluation of said item (i.e. you may want to abort the mission and keep the item if it's useful).
  • When setting up / cancelling a trade via the bar (at one's Fleet Carrier), EDR will show information about the material. This should help you avoid selling materials you could use, or making sure that you only sell useful stuff if you don't personally care about Odyssey engineers.
  • Upon completing a mission, EDR will show an evaluation of the reward material if any.
  • Added support for Odyssey engineers in Colonia (i.e. material requirements).

On-foot identification of other players

  • You can point at other on-foot players (emote) to display their EDR profile. This also contributes to EDR intel.

Points of Interest & Odyssey

  • Adjusted a lot of coordinates for points of interest in Odyssey, removed one location which no longer exists.
  • Added an informational note about "Horizons coordinates" for POIs that I didn't get to update.
  • The !nav set command which can be used to set one's current location as a navigation target, will now copy the longitude / latitude + system / planet into the clipboard.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed a crasher when refueling.
  • Fixed a correctness issue with one of the odyssey engineers' unlock requirements.
  • Fixed a crasher when entering a system with at least one body of interest.
  • Classification issue for G-meds (was "data", should have been "item").
  • Fixed some inconsistencies with odyssey storage (backpack, ship locker).
  • Adjusted conditions to re-show a player's profile on system chat, given the longstanding bug where the system chat spill over into other systems as the player travels around.

Custom sounds effects

  • Sound FX can be customized. Head over to the config folder, and see the instructions in sfx_config.v1.ini
  • Added different categories of sound for the various feature.
  • Still the same 2 basic sounds by default (for Intel and Warnings). I might update these, and add a few more in later releases.

Bug fixes

  • Fixed an oversight in sitreps

New features

Added a !parking feature to help with finding a parking slot for your fleet carrier.

The feature will show you the following info:

  • Theoretical maximum number of parking slots.
  • Estimated remaining number of parking slots based on fleet carriers reported by other EDR users with an account (+/- intervals based on data from within 24 hour of the last report).
  • Number of celestial bodies and Stars with stats about distances (e.g. median, average, max)

The feature accepts the following optional parameters:

  • A system of interest (e.g. !parking Deciat; note: the current location is used by default).
  • A number to target the next system nearby (e.g. !parking Deciat #1 for the closest system to Deciat, !parking Deciat #2 for the second closest system to Deciat and so on).

Fixes

Some minor correctness issues when jumping with a fleet carrier, etc.
