Schedules
A vehicle schedule describe the working of a vehicle. A goods schedule describes the movement of a cargo item. Typically a vehicle operates in a sequence of train parts, or goods travel in sequence of train parts. A train part can be from any departure to any subsequent arrival. A train part starting from the trains first departure to its last arrival constitutes the whole train.
- loco schedule describes in which train parts a single loco should be used.
- wagon schedule describes in which train parts a single wagon should run in.
- wagonset schedule describes in which train parts a fixed set of wagons should run in. The individual wagons and their order can be specified.
- cargo wagon group describes where to connect or disconnect cargo wagons with waybills. The maximum wagons to connect can be specified.
- item schedule that describes in which train part a certain type of goods should be loaded. This can be a card-only or with some specific cargo that goes along. It could be any type, for example mail, express goods.
A turnus is an assignment of a vehicle schedule for a set of operation days, i.e. Daily or Mo,We,Fr. Each turnus is assigned an train operator and a turnus number that is unique for that train operator. The turnus timetable is printed and placed in the pocket for the loco, wagon or wagonset.
A turnus can be over several days. A loco can start at A and end at B one day, start at B and end at A next day. In this case a turnus timetable for each of the two days will be printed where the operation days will differ.
A cargo block is a grouping of cargo wagons ordered by destinations along the way, as shown by the accompanying waybill. This information tells what wagons to connect or disconnect at each station, and the initial origins and final destinations of these wagons. At yards, information is needed how to build the freight trains.
